THE LOS ANGELES IRISH FILM FESTIVAL RULES AND REGULATIONS

Not following the guidelines, rules, and regulations of our competition and/or not meeting eligibility requirements may be cause for disqualification. Please read carefully.

Criteria:
We only accept original productions that represent the best of Ireland and the Irish on screen. This includes Irish productions or co-productions in Ireland or abroad, films of Irish subject matter, or that take place in communities of Irish decent outside of Ireland. If filmmaker is not Irish, then the content must be Irish related. Each film will be judged solely on its own merits.

Entry Formats:
1. All entries must be submitted on DVD. (NTSC formats. Region 0 or 1 only please!)
2. Non-English language films must be presented with English subtitles.
3. Only one movie per DVD. If entering more than one film, you must submit them separately.
4. The Los Angeles Irish Film Festival is not responsible in any way for the travel expense or accommodations of our selected filmmakers to our event(s).
5. The number of screenings, dates and venue is at the sole discretion of the Los Angeles Irish Film Festival and is subject to change. Please check our website(s) often for details.
6. Permission for the Los Angeles Irish Film Festival to screen any selected movie at promotional or fundraising events and/or to use an excerpt from any accepted film/video for promotional/advertising purposes (not to exceed 2 minutes) is hereby granted.
7. No application submission materials will be returned.
8. All entry fees MUST be paid in US Currency:
 
Short Film Submission Fee: $15

Feature Film Submission Fee: $25

Participation in the Los Angeles Irish Film Festival implies understanding and acceptance of all terms included in this application.

WAIVER: All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. By entering this competition, entrants release and hold the Los Angeles Irish Film Festival (LAIFF), it’s Staff and Volunteers harmless from and against all losses, damages, rights, claims and actions of any kind arising in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from participation with the competition or participation in any competition related activity. Force Majeure. Nonperformance of any party shall be excused to the extent that performance is rendered impossible by severe weather, court orders, fire, flood, terrorism, space invasions or any other reason where failure to perform is beyond the reasonable control of the non-performing party. Privacy. Personal information submitted in connection with the competition will be used for filing and notification purposes only.

By signing the application form the applicant agrees with the following: I have read, understand and agree to all of the Los Angeles Irish Film Festival Rules and Regulations and to be bound by them. I confirm that all necessary consents have been obtained and granted for the screening of my film and that my film does not infringe the rights, including copyright of any third party. I agree to indemnify the Los Angeles Irish Film Festival against any cost, claim, damage, proceedings or expenses of any nature whatsoever arising from my participation with this competition. Failure to comply or to sign the application immediately disqualifies the applicant from the submission process.
