The National Film School at the Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design & Technology (IADT)’s graduates and former students have won European Film Awards, Broadcast Film Critics Association Awards, National Board of Review Awards and Irish Film & Television Awards, as well as prizes at film festivals worldwide; they have been nominated for Oscars, Golden Globes,
Primetime Emmys, BAFTAs, Writers Guild of America Awards and British Independent Film Awards. We celebrate IADT’s 25th Anniversary by showcasing the best of its 25 years of filmmaking graduates, including Kirsten Sheridan's PATTERNS and Ken
Wardrop's UNDRESSING MY MOTHER.

Hugh Leonard Tribute:
DA (feature film) (1988)
A New York playwright is summoned to Ireland to bury his father (his "Da").
While at his boyhood home, he encounters his father's spirit and
relives memories both pleasant and not.
The original Broadway production of "Da" by Hugh Leonard opened at the Morosco Theater in New York on May 1, 1978,
ran for 697 performances and won the 1978 Tony Award for the Best Play. Barnard Hughes recreated his stage role in the
movie version and the screenplay was written by Hugh Leonard who wrote the original stage play.
Barnard Hughes won the 1978 Tony Award (New York City) for Actor in a Drama for "Da" for portraying the title role and recreating it in the movie version.
